On The Line Project | Lisbon phone booths
Lisbon, Portugal

Have you ever picked up the phone to strangers in a public booth ?

Live performance happened in 3 of Lisbon’s public phone booths:

16 artists called people from 6pm to midnight.

Participating audiences didn’t know where & who was calling on the phone

Each artist had is own project of what they said/did on their call... Where ?

- Cabine Largo S. Mamede
- Cabine Praça das Flores
- Cabine Largo Chiado 13-14

Artists on the line: Carmo Posser, Vera Mota, Susana Mendes Silva, Diogo Da Cruz, Ricardo Jacinto, Tomaz Hipólito, Alexandre Camarao, Francisco Pinheiro, Tomás Cunha Ferreira, Carolina Pimenta, Adriana Proganó, Henrique Pavão, Ana Pérez-Quiroga, Horácio Frutuoso, Francisca Aires Mateus.

If this telephone rings, you may answer it.
The artist is on the line and would like to talk to you
When a viewer picks up, I will ask one simple question:

If I tell you my deepest fear, will you tell me yours?

Carolina Pimenta, 2019

In an age where we are constantly manipulated, facing turbulent futures and prospects, I look to question common triggers to one of humanity’s most innate emotions: fear. What is your deepest fear? Confronting the spectator with a sentiment that is all too familiar, intrinsic and paralysing. At a time where the only certainty is uncertainty, fear acts as an overbearing roadblock on our true path. Similar to the ONE SHOT performance,  If I tell you mine, will you tell me yours? ends up being a reflection on the impact and reverberations that the smallest thoughts can have.
