Las imágenes de Carolina Pimenta se acercan al automóvil como quien recorre la ciudad con los ojos abiertos: sabiendo que, entre el ruido, el tráfico y las prisas, la máquina nunca es solo máquina. En este estudio de la imagen, lo que aparece no es el automóvil como objeto técnico, sino como compañero inevitable de la vida urbana, ese espejo metálico donde se reflejan nuestros gestos diarios, nuestras ansiedades y nuestros deseos de movimiento.

Pimenta fotografía lo que suele pasar desapercibido: el brillo que engaña, el desgaste que cuenta historias, la cercanía incómoda entre el cuerpo y el motor. Sus imágenes muestran cómo la tecnología se cuela sin permiso en lo íntimo, definiendo ritmos, afectos y maneras de mirar que ya damos por naturales. En la ciudad, esa coreografía constante de carne y metal, la frontera entre humano y máquina se vuelve difusa, casi un acuerdo tácito.

Sin solemnidad, pero con precisión, la exposición recuerda que lo técnico no es neutral. Está ahí, organizando la vida cotidiana, marcando el paso, empujando la velocidad. Las imágenes de Pimenta invitan a detenerse un segundo, algo casi subversivo en esta ciudad, y reconsiderar la relación que mantenemos con aquello que creemos controlar, pero que también nos moldea.

Carolina Pimenta's images approach the automobile as someone who travels through the city with their eyes open: knowing that, amid the noise, traffic, and rush, the machine is never just a machine. In this study of the image, what appears is not the automobile as a technical object, but as an inevitable companion to urban life, that metallic mirror reflecting our daily gestures, our anxieties, and our desires for movement.

Pimenta photographs what usually goes unnoticed: the deceptive shine, the wear and tear that tells stories, the uncomfortable closeness between body and engine. Her images show how technology sneaks into our private lives without permission, defining rhythms, affections, and ways of looking that we now take for granted. In the city—that constant choreography of flesh and metal—the boundary between human and machine becomes blurred, almost a tacit agreement.

Without solemnity, but with precision, the exhibition reminds us that technology is not neutral. It is there, organising everyday life, setting the pace, pushing speed. Pimenta's images invite us to pause for a second—something almost subversive in this city—and reconsider the relationship we have with that which we believe we control, but which also shapes us.
